Introduction Into Southern Africa Youth Project Founded in 2005, Southern Africa Youth Project envisions a world of inclusive economic empowerment for all young people in Southern Africa —regardless of age, race, gender, or socioeconomic status. Our mission is to promote inclusive economic empowerment for unemployed and unskilled young people through our ICT-based Work and Life Readiness and Opportunity Placement model. Our initiatives are part of the Neftaly African 5-year Youth Employment interventions that consist of creating pathways for young people into the economy by providing support, information, and training; changing the way young people are prepared for the world of work through shorter more flexible courses in skills that employers in fast-growing sectors needed as well as scaling up the Youth Employment Service and exposing youth to workspace training. We work in collaboration with Government agencies (Department of Higher Education and Training (Sector Education and Training Authority, TVET Colleges), NGOs serving young people, large corporations and businesses, Recruitment Agencies, and local communities. As the founder and CEO of Neftaly, Neftaly has transformed the organisation into an international institution that has affected the lives of more than 10 000 people through his exceptional management and leadership skills. Clement Malia	Clifford then went to Southern Business School where he completed a Diploma in Management and then worked at Neftaly as the Brand Ambassador, Communications Officer, Marketing Officer, Facilitator and to date he is the Chief Operations Officer of Neftaly. He holds a higher certificate and a national diploma in Management Accountancy with over seven years of experience in community development and project management. He has vast experience in communication, marketing, project management, compliance and corporate governance and Facilitation of Skills Development Courses. As the general manager of the Neftaly, Clifford has successfully managed projects in partnership with local and international partners, focusing on the empowerment and development of disadvantaged and vulnerable youth. Through his Leadership, Neftaly has worked in partnership with an institution like NMCF for a five-year school entrepreneurship program, Accenture for Skill development and job placement programs, The Department of Social Development, Erasmus+ for Refugee Employability program, Re-integration of young ex-offenders and Human Rights program as well as PEPFAR for HIV awareness and prevention program. The “United Africa in Diversity: Empowering Communities through Inclusive Sports” (UniAfric) project presents a transformative opportunity for Neftaly to drive social change, foster economic inclusion, and promote cultural integration within South Africa and across the region. Below are the key impacts expected at both local and regional levels: Enhanced Social Cohesion and Inclusion Foster mutual understanding and unity among migrants, refugees, and local communities through sports-based interactions. Reduce social tensions and discrimination by promoting collaborative and inclusive sports activities. Improved Employability for Youth & Migrants Equip young people, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, with transferable skills such as teamwork, leadership, and discipline. Provide career pathways in sports coaching, event management, and leadership roles. Capacity Building for Community Leaders and Coaches Train at least 50 local youth leaders and sports coaches in inclusivity-focused leadership, fostering long-term community development. Empower local leaders to advocate for diversity and inclusion through structured sports programs. Greater Youth Engagement in Positive Activities Provide structured, engaging, and purpose-driven sports programs to reduce delinquency, crime, and idleness among young people. The “United Africa in Diversity: Empowering Communities through Inclusive Sports” (UniAfric) project is designed to foster social integration, youth empowerment, and economic resilience through sports. To ensure measurable and sustainable impact, Neftaly will follow key principles and an effective monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework at the local level. 1. Data-Driven Approach Conduct a situational analysis to assess social, economic, and health vulnerabilities of migrants and host communities. Use quantitative and qualitative data to identify the most vulnerable youth including migrants and households. Map local socio-economic networks, skills development opportunities, and employment pathways to track changes over time. Impact Measurement: Baseline and follow-up surveys to track improvement in economic and social well-being. Participant retention and success rates in training and employment programs. Community feedback mechanisms to evaluate effectiveness. 2. Innovation & Creative Solutions · Implement technology-driven solutions to enhance youth engagement and sports participation. · Encourage social entrepreneurship by linking youth to emerging economic opportunities. Southern Africa Youth Project has a dedicated fundraising team that ensures that we raise more resources during and after completing this project. Southern Africa Youth Project has introduced investment schemes in which it has created reserves to ensure that funders cannot support it. It exists from the interests it was born from those investments.
