    4. Recording properly in the Engine Room Environmental Seals Log Book (ER-ESLB) all environmental seals used;
    5. Measuring, monitoring and managing the shipboard machinery space generated wastes on a daily basis;
    6. Monitoring and managing the condition of any equipment having oil-to-sea interface on a daily basis (weather and safety permitting);
    7. Timely resolving (through repairs and/or applicable Management System procedures) all environmental & Energy concerns, such as inoperative or ineffective pollution prevention equipment, waste handling or monitoring equipment, and leakages (stemming from pump seals, packing glands or line breaks, or due to any other cause) contributing to the accumulations of bilge fluids, oily mixtures and sludge type wastes in the engine room, any other machinery space, or pump room;
    8. Ensuring that all Engine Room wastes that are subject to special handling requirements (e.g. Hazardous Wastes) are properly managed;
    9. Ensuring that all blank flanges and potentially removable flanges on all piping systems in the Engine Room, that lead overboard, are sealed.

    PURPOSE OF POSITION

    • The Laundry Staff ensures the day-to-day sorting of linen, according to company policies and procedures.
    • It is your responsibility to create a friendly, guest-oriented service culture to ensure Guest satisfaction and repeat business, which in turn, will increase revenue and profitability of the company.

    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Sort all linen, on a daily basis.
    • Load and unload all washers and dryers, according to Viking’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Handle the flat iron for all Laundry and fold towels, as required.
    • Monitor the iron roll pressure and steam supply.
    • Regularly clean dryer ducts and laundry area.
    • Report all laundry equipment damages and/or malfunctions to the Laundry Master.
    • Correctly handle cleaning products, materials and laundry equipment, separate & remove garbage and place it in designated containers; clean garbage as often as needed, ensuring that separation procedures and all Public Health Standards are maintained.
    • Participate in “The Daily Reunion” every day to understand your team’s operational needs and to ensure consistent adherence to Viking’s STAR Service Standards.
    • Provide the highest level of comfort and service to Guests and consistently maintain an impeccable standard of cleanliness and hygiene in assigned areas, as per Viking’s STAR Service Standards and all Public Health Policies; proactively prepare service according to Guest flow, embarkation & disembarkation, sea day activities & other activities.
    • Ensure you always wear the appropriate and task specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for your duties onboard. Always use correct lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
    • Uphold impeccable grooming standards at all times by complying with Viking’s Image and Uniform Standards.
    • Ensure that company property is appropriately secured and protected, especially during rough weather conditions, in order to prevent unnecessary loss or damage.
    • Demonstrates outstanding flexibility: able to work at different times of the day, under pressure and reflect a positive can-do attitude and the best image of Viking at all times.
    • Become knowledgeable about itinerary-related ports of call, shore excursions and shipboard activities such as events, entertainment and programs.

    • Assist with maintenance of equipment under the supervision of the 1st Electronics Engineer when required.
    • Be responsible for maintenance tasks assigned within his discipline.
    • Train, guide, and coach Assistant Electrical Engineers under his supervision (if assigned).
    • Perform additional routines and work as assigned by the Chief Electrical Engineer or 1st Electronics Engineer.
    • Ensure all work complies with regulatory requirements, SQM, SOPs, and manufacturer recommendations.
    • Maintain and update all relevant documentation, including drawings, service manuals, and โ€œas-builtโ€ records.
    • Ensure all system components and parts are registered and fully covered by AMOS maintenance jobs.
    • Request additional manpower as needed for repairs and maintenance tasks.
