Position Summary
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the ship’s HVAC equipment/ system, domestic refrigeration plant, ventilation, cooling, freezing, provision, equipment, all air conditioning throughout the vessel and ensuring they are are up to the Company standards and in compliance with Public Health, any National or International standards or any other prescribed regulations.
- Ensures proper coordination with different technical parties and departments.
Reporting Structure
- Reporting to the Hotel Engineer or HVAC Engineer.
- Functional reporting to Hotel Engineer or HVAC Engineer for all Hotel Department matters.
Safety Duties:
- Participates in crew safety drills according to instructions.
- Must always comply with the Company’s safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures.
- Leads by example by taking care of Health and Safety of self and others.
- Ensures that all work equipment, personal protective equipment, chemicals and safety devices are being used correctly.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Valid STCW certification.
- Appropriate certification as required by regulations.
- Good knowledge of refrigeration system, AC distribution systems and ability to solve AC issues in cabins and public spaces.
- Consistent job experience as ship refrigerator fitter with screw and centrifugal compressors.
- Licensed to handle refrigerant gases.
- Physically and medically fit.
- Moral integrity is required.
- Public Health, Sanitation and Environmental training courses are appreciated.
- Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings and manuals.
- Alaska experience is a plus.

- Safe maintenance, operation, repair, supervision and ownership of the following systems according to Company policies and other prescribed regulations (to include but not limited to the following):
- Engine room ventilation systems.
- Galley ventilation systems.
- Provision room equipment.
- Multi-flow beverage machines.
- Hotel accommodation and areas.
- Crew accommodation and areas.
- Mini bar units and ice making machines.
- Under counter fridges.
- Inspects the cleanliness and safety of galley, laundry, and launderette exhaust ducts, and ensures that all required and necessary cleaning routines are properly executed.
- Assists the Hotel Engineer in the coordination and control of the refrigeration accounts.
- Driving and maintenance of the air conditioning compressor cooling system equal or superior to 600 KW.
- Control and maintenance of air conditioning station cooled by chilled water.
- Carries out overhauls of A.C. Unit including the replacement of bearings and alignment.
- Responsible to the Hotel Engineer for the cleanliness of AC Stations based on daily verification conducted with the assistance of Asst A/C Fitter.
- Responsible to the Hotel Engineer for the maintenance of the Air Handling Units (AHUs).
- Reports to the Hotel Engineer daily with verification/adjustments of AC temperature in hotel areas including restaurants bars and galleys.
- Reports to the Hotel Engineer with daily verification of performance and maintenance of A/C Compressors.
- Conducts “night audit” in rotation with the Asst A/C Fitter.
- Ensures sufficient stock of spare parts and consumables is on order and in the onboard system to cover planned and unplanned maintenance.
- Participates in the development of on board operational plans in accordance with all technical, legislative, safety and procedural specifications, to support the successful completion of maintenance periods and works closely with the Hotel Department on all maintenance issues, ensuring a minimal impact on the shipboard operation.
- Reports completed maintenance to the Hotel Engineer for entry into the planned maintenance system.
- Keeps Chief Engineer, Staff Engineer and Hotel Engineer promptly and fully informed of all problems and matters of significance. Conducting daily communication to review progress and agree on work prioritisation.
- Accountable for ensuring that Company, Public Health, National and International standards are maintained and meeting requirements. Reporting to the Hotel Engineer any instances where the ship is unable or fails to comply.
- Accurate completion of log books and other assigned documentation.
- Observes and enforces uniform and grooming standards according to Company policies.
- Practices good people management, maintaining proper conduct within the Hotel and Technical departments.
- All other duties as assigned.

Embarkation 30/November/2025, required experience as such on cruise ships, valid C1D visa, all valid Certificates.

Your Impact
• Keeping the Chief Engineer fully informed, the Chief Refrigeration Technician is to consult daily with the Staff Engineer concerning methods and procedures for the maintenance and upkeep of the Air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
• To stand by during the night in case of emergency or immediate intervention on the air conditioning or refrigeration plants.
• If necessary, to replace the assigned assistant for a night’s standby duty.

• To coordinate the daily maintenance with the Refrigeration team concerning Guest and Crew cabins, fan rooms, AC filters and other refrigerators in accordance with the Hotel Engineer or his person delegated by the Chief Engineer.
• To assign maintenance and repair duties to assistant personnel and actively supervise in any overhaul and repair work.
• Inspect all related work in progress, and on completion, assure that manpower is utilized to the fullest extent, that work is executed properly in accordance with acceptable standards and that no wastage of materials occurs.
• Prepare requisitions for stores and spare parts, submitting them to the Staff Engineer for approval by the Chief Engineer.
• Maintain an approved inventory of materials on hand and on order; receiving and signing for materials, ensuring they are properly labeled, preserved, stowed and secured to avoid loss from damage or deterioration.
• Control the issue and use of materials to prevent waste.
• Always operate with the full consideration for the comfort and safety of Guests.
Your Journey So Far
• Extensive, successful experience in a similar position on Cruise line.
• Fluent in oral and written English (working and Safety language of the Company). Ability to speak any other language is a plus.
• High School diploma.
• While performing the duties of this job, the Chief Refrigeration Technician may be regularly required to stand walk, use hands to touch, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
• Chief Refrigeration Technician must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 Kg.

Position Summary
The Assistant HVAC Engineer is to assist the HVAC Engineer in the completion of their day-to-day activities including but not limited to;
• Undertaking tasks utilizing safe systems of work.• Ensures that maintenance and repair of the vessel’s HVAC equipment/ system, domestic refrigeration plant, ventilation, cooling, freezing, provision, equipment, all air conditioning throughout the vessel are up to the cruise line’s standards and international regulations.
• The Assistant HVAC Engineer carries out maintenance and repair of the engine room and galley ventilation systems, multi-flow beverage machines, mini-bar units and ice making machines as directed by the HVAC Engineer.
• Inspects the cleanliness and safety of galley, laundry, and launderette exhaust ducts, and ensures that all required and necessary cleaning routines are properly executed.
• Responsible for keeping of temperature logs for freezers and cold rooms as required by USPH.
• Other departmental and reasonable tasks as directed.
• Participates in emergency response, safety drills, training & development as directed.
• Ensures that all maintenance and repairs that take place in passenger areas are carried out in a manner that minimizes disruption to passengers.

- Maintaining the equipment records, planned maintenance schedules, repair and work-orders for equipment in the HVAC/Refrigeration area.
- Maintaining machinery history and repair and maintenance records for the equipment, he is responsible for maintaining. This is accomplished through utilising the AMOS computerised maintenance system.
- Ensuring that narrative statements in AMOS include dates of repair and maintenance, conditions found, nature of work done, parts used, etc.
- Responsible for AC compressors, including pipes, pumps and shut off valves in pre-heat water systems.
- Maintenance and operation of Engine Room ventilation including fire dampers.
- Maintenance and operation of pumps for AC pre-heat, re-heat (HVAC/Refrigeration section has no other pumps noted in AMOS).
- Maintaining insulation and seals for doors to provision rooms and walk-in coolers, including latches, hinges and gaskets.
- Responsible for creating detailed work lists for each member of his team/section, specifying their area of responsibility for maintaining and repairing HVAC/Refrigeration equipment.
- Making all necessary reports and logs related to the HVAC/Refrigeration section.
- Maintaining the HVAC/Refrigeration equipment spaces under his control in a clean and safe condition.
- Providing a handover report to the relieving Refrigeration Engineer with a copy to the Chief Engineer, whenever leaving the vessel for vacation, or any other reason.
- Reporting to Chief Engineer upon joining the vessel and consulting with the Refrigeration Engineer being relieved, regarding the machinery and equipment for which the Refrigeration Engineer is responsible.
- Ensuring to read their predecessor’s relief reports when joining the vessel, and to discuss any unusual circumstances in the report with the Chief Engineer.
- Ensuring, when in capacity of relieving Refrigeration Engineer, that all the publications and records assigned to the custody of the departing 1st Refrigeration Engineer is received before said person leaves the vessel.
- Coordinating and developing a vacation plan for HVAC/Refrigeration section Officers and crew, in conjunction with the Chief Engineer.
- To accurately log overtime for HVAC/Refrigeration section crew, and to ensure that Overtime sheets are submitted to the Chief Engineer in a timely manner.
- Adhering to and ensuring that the HVAC/Refrigeration section Officers and crew adhere to all Company policies and procedures, manuals and directives.
- Issuing detailed work lists to the Assistant AC Fitter, specifying their responsible maintenance area of machinery and equipment.
- To train, coach, counsel, support, supervise and delegate to the Assistant AC Fitter.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Engineer, but not limited to the above.

- Participates in the development of on board operational plans in accordance with all technical, legislative, safety and procedural specifications, to support the successful completion of maintenance periods and works closely with the Hotel Department on all maintenance issues, ensuring a minimal impact on the shipboard operation.

Description
The Engine Oiler and Waste Operator is an engine rating position who assists Engineer Officers with daily routines and general maintenance of ship’s main propulsion plant and auxiliary machinery. The Engine Oiler and Waste Operator also assists with basic accommodation maintenance and with refueling of tenders and lifeboats. Promotes that all Gold Standards and Brand Culture are embraced by the team at all times, particularly when assisting guests and Ladies and Gentlemen.

Essential Duties
- Ensures optimal condition of machinery and systems by assisting the Engine Room team with machinery overhauls and routine maintenance tasks, as directed by the Engine Foreperson.
- Promotes a clean, safe and healthy working environment by cleaning, chipping and painting various machinery room spaces and equipment and by ensuring the Engine Workshop is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Ensures the highest standards of safety, the Oiler works as a rigger when heavy parts or equipment are to be landed or brought on board.
- Ensures the highest levels of environmental protection, the Oiler will assist in bunkering of vessel, tenders and lifeboats.
- Assists the Refrigeration Assistant with routine cleaning of Fan Coil Units and change out of filters, as per planned maintenance schedule.
- Performs routine cleaning of accommodation scuppers and shower drains under the supervision of Marine – Hotel Fitter.
Qualifications
- Valid Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and flag certification for the duration of the contract and appropriate to position
- Two (2) years’ experience as an Oiler or similar rank onboard a cruise vessel
- Rating forming part of an Engineering Watch Certificate
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The Lady or Gentleman must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be able to communicate in the English language in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
