Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces, SI has been responding to the needs of the population living in areas under Government control. While programming in 2022 and 2023 was—rightly—focused on immediate emergency response, the year 2024 marked a transition toward a more balanced approach, combining both emergency and early recovery interventions.SI’s main strategic objective for 2025 is to strengthen and clearly position its comparative advantage in Ukraine. The ambition is for SI to build a recognized and demonstrable expertise in WASH and Shelter. The program strategy for 2025 therefore focuses on two core sectors—WASH and Shelter—and is structured around two strategic axes: 1. Respond to both acute and chronic emergencies2. Contribute to creating the conditions for dignified return or sustainable stay in stable areas through a recovery-oriented approach To maximize the impact of its interventions, SI aims to further enhance sectoral integration and promote localized approaches.In 2026, SI’s country program in Ukraine is expected to operate with a budget of approximately 10 million euros, with three field bases (Mykolaiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv), one coordination office in Kyiv, and a total of 110 staff, including around 20 expatriates.The main donors in 2026 will be, in order of funding volume: CDC, AFD, BHA, and ECHO. - Public Health, Sanitation and Environmental training courses are appreciated.
- Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings and manuals.
- Alaska experience is a plus.

- Monitors all electrical equipment onboard to maximise operational safety and efficiency of the vessel.
- Safe maintenance, operation, repair, supervision and ownership of electrical systems according to Company policy and other prescribed regulations (to include but not limited to the following:
- High voltage systems
- Main and auxiliary engines
- Communications
- Light systems including emergency lighting and power supply
- Control systems
- Power and engine systems
- Generators
- Thrusters
- Steering gear
- Hi Fog
- Watertight doors
- Electrical installations in the Engine room
- Navigation systems

- Galley and pantry equipment

- Oversees the technical performance of the ship
- Ensures sufficient stock of spare parts and consumables is on order and in onboard system to cover planned and unplanned maintenance
- Participates in the development of on board operational plans in accordance with all technical, legislative, safety and procedural specifications, to support the successful completion of maintenance periods while ensuring a minimal impact on the shipboard operation.
- Reports completed maintenance to the Chief Electrician, and update completion in scheduled maintenance system in accordance with its competencies.
- Keeps Chief Electrician promptly and fully informed of all problems and matters of significance. Conducting daily communication/briefing to review progress and agree on work prioritisation.
- Accurate completion of logbooks and other assigned documentation.
- Accountable for ensuring that Company, Public Health, National and International standards are maintained and meeting requirements. Reports to Chief Electrician any instance where the ship is unable to or fails to comply.
- Assign maintenance and repair duties to 2nd Electricians and Assistant Electricians, actively supervising
- Must be familiar with the Chief Electrician duties to act as 2nd in command of this department.
- Monitors subordinates working/resting hours and overtime. Maintaining 100% compliance with Company requirements as well as ILO/ MLC.
- Leads, trains and develops subordinates ensuring effective reviews, feedback, coaching and performance management.
- Observes and enforces uniform and grooming standards according to Company policies
- Practices good people management, maintaining proper conduct within the Engine department and other departments around the ship.
