Spread the loveThe Centre for Adolescent Health is offering a 50% scholarship for one professional to undertake the Master of Adolescent Health and Wellbeing (Leadership Specialisation) at the University of Melbourne. This initiative is part of launching the program’s new Leadership Specialisation.
The successful student (and / or their organisation or government department) will be required to pay the remaining 50% of the fees. Priority will be given to professionals enrolling from low and middle income settings and whom have confirmation of financial support from a sponsoring organisation for the remaining 50%.
The scholarship will be provided on a semester basis, with continuation by semester on the basis of appropriate progress in the previous semesters.

About the Master of Adolescent Health and Wellbeing
- Delivery Mode: Online, part-time, accessible globally.
- Program Overview: This unique program equips students from various fields with in-depth knowledge and advanced skills in adolescent health and wellbeing.
Students can now choose between two specialisations:
- Leadership Specialisation:
- Focuses on designing and implementing a workplace challenge project under academic and professional supervision.
- Culminates in presenting findings and identifying implications with workplace stakeholders, fostering leadership in adolescent health.
- Research Specialisation:
- Focuses on proposing a research question and designing a methodology for an adolescent health challenge.
- Results in a minor thesis, providing a rigorous academic research experience.
Program Structure
The Master’s program builds on a nested suite of courses:
- Graduate Certificate (1 year, part-time):
- Introductory knowledge of adolescent health, prevention frameworks, and skills for working with schools, communities, and health services.
- Streams: ‘Wellbeing’ or ‘AYA Oncology.’
- Graduate Diploma (2 years part-time or 1 year full-time):
- Advanced training in adolescent health, prevention frameworks, and practical skills for community and health service settings.
- Master’s Degree (2 additional years, part-time):
- Advanced study leading to either a minor research thesis or a capstone leadership project.
Scholarship Details
- Donor: Centre of Research Excellence for Driving Global Investment in Adolescent Health (MCRI).
- Award: Covers 50% of tuition fees. The remaining 50% must be paid by the recipient or their supporting organization.
- Priority: Professionals from low- and middle-income settings with confirmed financial support from a sponsoring organization.
The scholarship is renewable each semester based on academic progress.

- How this program will enhance your capacity to support young people in your context.
- Personal and professional attributes you bring to the program.
- Anticipated challenges and strategies to overcome them.
- Manager Letter of Support: A 300-word letter detailing their support and the expected benefits for you and your organization.
Email Subject: “Global Leadership in Adolescent Health Scholarship” followed by your name.

Scholarship Value
- Covers 50% of tuition fees for 8 subjects.
- Indicative total cost (2025 rates): AUD 12,000 per year (part-time, 4 years). Recipients pay AUD 6,000 annually, with potential indexing of fees by ~4% per year.
