Background/IRC Summary:  The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a private, non-political, non-profit, and non-religious organization. For over 90 years, we have been providing humanitarian assistance to communities affected by conflict and natural disasters in more than 40 countries. Since 2008, the IRC has been active in Myanmar, delivering humanitarian assistance in areas such as health, protection, water, and sanitation, specifically targeting families impacted by conflict and natural disasters. Job Overview/Summary:  The As part of the new Earthquake Response Emergency Response Plan, the Integrated Education Officer will work closely with the Child Protection and Protection Team to:  Identify the information needs related to education and support the provision of responsive information services focused on emergency education services and facilitate      education referrals through the established protection information sessions and Helpdesk;  Support the integration of basic education services for children in  existing safe spaces being established for children, women and people with disabilities, already providing   MHPSS support.  Support the Child Protection case management and referrals services to include education referrals, based on education service mapping and availability of education services   in targeted areas  Identify gaps in education services and service providers for affected children, and propose opportunities for strengthening education components, including basic literacy and numeracy, including potentially through the use of education technology and remote learning platforms  Training of local partners and IRC staff on education in emergencies and other relevant content.   Represent IRC in education sector meetings Major Responsibilities: Oversee the expansion of static / mobile safe spaces to include education support for children Regularly update service mapping for education services available in targeted areas to inform information sessions for targeted communities  Support the development of activity plans for the safe spaces and ensure delivery of education sessions as per plans Develop/update education focused information content including key messages for caregivers and communities, and available education services for the integrated protection teams  Ensure safe and timely referrals and case management being conducted by Child Protection are sensitive to children’s educational needs, and are aware of available education opportunities Proactively identify other opportunities for expanding education support in Earthquake Response (including through the potential use of Education Technology to reach learners and families)  Conduct training of IRC protection team and local partners on education activities and integration of education and child protection as per INEE and Child protection minimum standards with support of Education and CP TAs Support the data collection and analysis of education data and produce reports highlighting challenges, best practices lessons learned.  Regularly participate in the education sector (cluster) coordination meetings and contribute in interagency initiatives as needed   Key Working Relationships:  Position Reports to: Protection Team Leader Position directly supervises: Nil Minimum Qualifications:Job Requirements: At least 1 year of protection programming experience in the field areas  Secondary education on any stream; preferred social work  Ability to adapt in the community and handle situations, interaction and discussion  Preferred if local person from the community If a suitable applicant is found, an interview will be conducted before the position deadline.
