    Your Purpose

    An exciting opportunity exists for a world class Chief Refrigeration Technician to join our newly created luxury travel brand “Explora Journeys” and assure the safe and efficient control and maintenance of the ship’s air conditioning system, the Provisions area refrigeration units and all refrigerators on board.

    Your Impact

    • Keeping the Chief Engineer fully informed, the Chief Refrigeration Technician is to consult daily with the Staff Engineer concerning methods and procedures for the maintenance and upkeep of the Air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.

    • To stand by during the night in case of emergency or immediate intervention on the air conditioning or refrigeration plants.

    • If necessary, to replace the assigned assistant for a night’s standby duty.

    • To coordinate the daily work of the Refrigeration team, taking instructions from the Chief Engineer, Staff Engineer or Hotel Engineer.

    • To check periodically to ensure that all provision rooms and Air-conditioning substations are at the correct set point, updating the relevant daily logs, reporting immediately to the Chief Engineer or his delegate in case of problems or faults in the system.

    • To coordinate the daily maintenance with the Refrigeration team concerning Guest and Crew cabins, fan rooms, AC filters and other refrigerators in accordance with the Hotel Engineer or his person delegated by the Chief Engineer.

    • To assign maintenance and repair duties to assistant personnel and actively supervise in any overhaul and repair work.

    • Inspect all related work in progress, and on completion, assure that manpower is utilized to the fullest extent, that work is executed properly in accordance with acceptable standards and that no wastage of materials occurs.

     • Prepare requisitions for stores and spare parts, submitting them to the Staff Engineer for approval by the Chief Engineer.

    • Maintain an approved inventory of materials on hand and on order; receiving and signing for materials, ensuring they are properly labeled, preserved, stowed and secured to avoid loss from damage or deterioration.

     • Control the issue and use of materials to prevent waste.

     • Always operate with the full consideration for the comfort and safety of Guests. 

    Your Journey So Far

    • Extensive, successful experience in a similar position on Cruise line.

    • Fluent in oral and written English (working and Safety language of the Company). Ability to speak any other language is a plus.

    • High School diploma.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the Chief Refrigeration Technician may be regularly required to stand walk, use hands to touch, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. 

    • Chief Refrigeration Technician must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 Kg.

    Your Purpose

    The Linen Keeper is responsible for the inventory of all ships linen and terry. The Linen keeper works very closely with the Suite Hosts, Laundry team and Tailor.

    Your Impact

    • The Linen keeper is in charge to control the PAR of the linen, tablecloth, napkins and towels used on the ship.

    • Controls the daily usage and distribution per sections and per outlet.

    • Keeps track of all the special pillows and baby cribs delivered to the guests during the journey.

    • Monitors the quantity of linen used by the HK Hotel, for guest and team members, by preparing or supervising the amount packed per shift by individual Suite Host and Public Area Attendant.

    • Assist the Tailor and the Laundry Team as needed accordingly to the operational needs. In charge with the monthly PAR count of all in use linen and terry stored in the Linen store and main laundry, performing the inventory together with the Laundry Master and Hotel team.

    • Assist with luggage loading if needed and requested by the Housekeeper.

    • Participate to daily Team meeting and follows up the Public Health rules.

    • Is flexible and follows up on tasks as advised by the Housekeeping Manager.

    • High School diploma or similar preferred.

    • Cruise ship experience is an advantage.

    • For safety and others on board, certain physical abilities will be maintained.

    • Must be able to climb, bend, perform repetitive motion and eventually heavy lifting.

    • Knowledge of Computers and MS Office Suite.

    • Fluent in written and spoken English.

    Your Purpose

    The primary responsibility of the Deck Steward is to maintain the Pool Area in immaculate shape whilst providing high quality Guest services ensuring excellent guest relations.

    Your Impact

    Clean and set up smoking section.

    • Set up lounge chairs.

    • Collect and fold towels.

    • Ensure chairs covers are clean and dry.

    • Umbrellas, chairs and tables to bet set up and checked for cleanliness.

    • Umbrellas bases wiped daily.

    • Put folded towels on each lounge chairs weather permitting, in cold weather provide deck blankets.

    • Wipe wooden handrails daily port and starboard side.

    • Vacuuming of Deck 11 as often as needed when carpet is dry only (weather permitting).

    • Cleaning of sun lounges with hot water on a regular basis to avoid permanent damage (stain) to the framing.

    • Cleaning of windows and the window frames with the appropriate cleaning materials on a regular basis.

    • Continuously check and clean ashtrays in the smoking area.

    • Collection of dirty towels from the boxes and replenish as needed ensure sufficient fresh towels are available at all times.

    • Bring used towels to laundry and collect fresh ones.

    • Provide and offer complimentary and selling beverages.

    • Embarkation Day: Assist Housekeeping with embarkation duties or luggage handling.

    • Removal of deck furniture in case of inclement weather. Ask for assistance is necessary.

    • Reporting defects and maintenance issues to the supervisor on duty.

    • Correctly apply the food safety procedures and food quality requirements related to all processes.

    • Elementary and middle school (8th grade or higher)

    • A minimum of two years related experience and/or training in the hospitality field.

    • Minimum one-year experience in Housekeeping, Bar and/or restaurant.

    • Basic knowledge on food safety.

    • Ability to swim

    Your Purpose

    To perform ,or assist in, the maintenance and repairs for either the engine room or hotel areas depending on which area is assigned to them. The Assistant Electrical Fitter reports directly to the 2 nd Electro-Technical Officer on all issues pertaining to the specific area designated to them. The Assistant Electrical Fitter will assist with any issues, as and when, requested/required.

    Your Impact

    • Consults on a regular basis with the 2 nd Electro-Technical Officer concerning methods and procedures for the maintenance and upkeep of the electrical equipment.

    • Consistently monitors, controls and troubleshoots all electrical equipment and systems machinery equipment as directed by the 2 nd Electro-Technical Officer.

    • Immediately reports all electrical equipment damage or malfunction to the 2 nd Electro-Technical Officer.

    • The Assistant Electrical Fitter is responsible for assisting the 2nd Electro-Technical Officer in the repairs and maintenance of the following systems: a) Elevators – Including assisting with routine maintenance and weekly safety checks. b) Hotel systems – To include automatic doors. c) Passenger/crew accommodation – Including cabin automation, lighting and power issues. d) Main Engines – To include assisting with routine safety shutdown tests e) Safety Systems – To include battery checks where required. f) Engine room general systems – To include assisting with the maintenance and repair of Waste Water Treatment systems, Evaporators etc.

    • Ensures that all their work is completed to such a standard as to reduce , where possible, future failures.

    • Works closely with the Senior Technical Storekeeper to ensure sufficient stock of spare parts and consumables is held on board to cover planned and unplanned maintenance at all times.

    • Ensure that all assigned maintenance and repairs are communicated to the 2nd Electro-Technical Officer so that they can be entered into InfoSHIP thus keeping an accurate record of all repairs and parts used. The entries must also include the required test results/readings.

    • Always operate with the full consideration for the comfort of Guests.

    • Works Closely with the Facility manager in order to ensure all repair orders are completed in a timely manner

    Your Journey So Far

    • Previous work experience in a similar position with luxury/premium Cruise company or in a  related field and willingness to train.

    • Certificate of Competencies license III/7

    • High School Graduate with appropriate licenses as required by company. • Team player and proactive.

    • Possess a valid passport and seaman book

    • Computer literacy and ability to operate office equipment.

    • Basic Windows based programs knowledge.

    • Fluent in oral and written English (working and Safety language of the Company) Explora Fleet English Level: B1.

    • Any major other languages is considered a major advantage.

    Your Purpose

    The Daily Engineer is responsible for the daily maintenance and operations of the prime movers and every other auxiliary equipment specified in the Chief Engineer’s delegation and he/she has to plan, execute and prioritise planned and unplanned tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer and Staff Engineer. The Daily Engineer has to be able to relieve the Staff Engineer or withstand Engineering Watch duties, if required.

    Your Impact

    • The Chief Engineer delegates the Daily Engineer for the safe and efficient operation of the prime movers and relative auxiliaries. He/she is in charge of the planned and unplanned maintenance of the assets, as per relative delegations.

    • To plan, coordinate and execute the safe and efficient progress of all assigned planned and unplanned work while assuring that the workforce is utilised to the fullest extent and that no waste of resources may occur.

    • Be directly responsible toward the Staff Engineer for each work performed in the Engine Room and for the maintenance and conditions of the Main and Emergency Diesel Engines and all the assigned propulsion and generation auxiliaries.

    • The Daily Engineer has to comply with the Company’s instructions and to control the proper disposal of all waste, rags etc. to avoid fire and other hazards.

    • To ensures that a thorough routine of inspections is in place and that the correct maintenance logs and relevant operational risks are accurately and timely reported as per Company’s instructions.

    • To train his/her Teams in order to familiarise, promulgate and follow safe working practices and to ensure that each Team member fully follows Company’s instructions and work steps and that every task is completed safely and efficiently.

    • To proactively consider, plan and operate in a way that full consideration to the satisfaction of our Guests and the welfare of our Crew is given in every planned and unplanned task undertaken

    • To maintain discretion over the issue of replenishment and the use of stocks and consumables in order to maintain accurate inventory and to maximise the assigned budgets.

    • To assist in coordinate, load and move bunkers, chemicals and stocks on board.
