We are currently seeking experienced and driven freelance researchers or consultants to support our product development team by contributing to in-depth research projects aimed at improving and validating Neftaly’s business models and service offerings.

Role Overview

As a Product Development Research Freelancer, you will work with Neftaly’s internal teams to conduct targeted business model research, provide strategic insights, and help prototype viable service innovations. You will have access to Neftaly’s proprietary frameworks, datasets, and support resources to guide your work.

Key Responsibilities

 Business Model Analysis

• Map out and evaluate components of Neftaly’s existing and proposed business models:

  • Value Proposition, Customer Segments, Revenue Streams, Cost Structures

  • Distribution Channels, Customer Relationships, Key Resources and Partnerships

 Research & Innovation

• Conduct market analysis, customer research, competitor benchmarking, and trend analysis

• Identify innovation opportunities to enhance competitive positioning

• Analyse business model viability in terms of scalability, market fit, and financial feasibility

 Tools & Frameworks

• Use the Business Model Canvas to visualise components

• Conduct scenario analysis to assess risks and opportunities under different market conditions

• Support prototype development and test iterations of service designs Stakeholder Engagement

• Conduct structured interviews and surveys with internal and external stakeholders

• Gather insights to validate customer needs, partnership potential, and value delivery strategies

 Strategic Reporting

• Deliver comprehensive research reports, executive summaries, and visual data presentations

• Provide actionable insights to inform product development, go-to-market strategies, and decision-making

• Present findings to Neftaly stakeholders through virtual sessions and workshops

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in business model analysis, market research, or product development

• Solid understanding of start-up frameworks, lean innovation, or social enterprise

• Ability to produce high-quality written reports and visual business model representations

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills

• Self-managed and capable of meeting research deadlines and quality expectations

Preferred:

• Previous consulting or freelance research work with NGOs, startups, or incubators

• Familiarity with tools like Business Model Canvas, SWOT, PESTEL, and financial modeling

• Experience with research platforms, survey tools, or design thinking methods
