We work on the ground with communities to assess needs, implement strategic programs, and create impactful change. Neftaly partners with TVET Colleges to provide WIL (Work Integrated Learning) opportunities for students with disabilities, empowering them through practical experience and capacity building.

Position Overview:
Neftaly is seeking passionate, proactive, and committed interns from TVET colleges (with disabilities) to join our Community Development WIL Internship Programme. The internship is designed to offer in-depth exposure to multi-sector community development projects, equipping interns with critical practical skills and experience across planning, implementation, evaluation, and outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
Interns will support and participate in various quarterly and monthly activities, including but not limited to:
1. Community Research & Needs Assessment

Conducting surveys, focus groups, and interviews

Analysing qualitative and quantitative data

Prioritizing community needs and issues
2. Project Planning & Implementation
-
Assisting in project design, budgeting, and timeline setting
-
Resource planning and allocation
-
Monitoring and evaluating community projects
3. Community Engagement & Outreach
-
Organizing public meetings, events, and workshops
-
Leading awareness campaigns and stakeholder collaboration
-
Supporting volunteer and civic engagement initiatives
4. Capacity Building & Economic Empowerment

Facilitating training in leadership, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy

Supporting job placement, financial literacy, and microenterprise development
5. Infrastructure & Environmental Development

Participating in urban development, green space enhancement, and service improvement projects
-
Promoting sustainability, recycling, and energy efficiency
6. Health, Safety & Social Services Support
-
Assisting in health education, emergency preparedness, and mental wellness programs
-
Engaging in housing, youth development, and childcare support initiatives
7. Technology, Inclusion & Strategic Partnerships

Promoting digital inclusion and tech access for underserved groups

Supporting inclusive community integration and anti-discrimination efforts

Facilitating partnership development and joint community efforts
Minimum Requirements:
-
Must be a TVET College student registered for WIL (preferably from a community development, social work, public management, or related programme)

Person with a disability (must be disclosed and supported with documentation if required)

Passionate about community development and social impact

Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
-
Basic digital literacy and willingness to learn

Resides near or is willing to be placed in communities where Neftaly operates
